A couple of weeks ago Austin, Scott, and Katie met up with the Landyachtz crew while they were at the Penn State stop of their East Coast Campus Tour and the Washington DC Season Kickoff Slide Jam. Landyachtz released this video from the events and we’re stoked to see Scott’s Longboard-stickered cargo van featured in the vid with everyone skating! (PS. Check out Scott’s Standy to backflip!!)
Yesterday was the Washington D.C. slide jam and it was a rainy, sketchy, awesome time. It pretty much rained from start to end resulting in slides being friction-free and effortless. There were some gnarly crashes (Chris watched as a guy lost two of his teeth) and the Landyachtz crew showed up to the excitement of many. Big thanks to Billy Jackle and Liam Hayes who put on the event.
Billy recognized the four girls who showed up to skate (Jenica, Katie, myself, and Monica) with free gear. Katie Neilson was also nice enough to give us some sweet Landyachtz t-shirts, which were much needed since we were all soaked.
I hope you all get out there, try new things, and push your limits in longboarding.
Weekend Swag! Scott and Katie met up with Austin at PSU for Landyachtz East Coast Campus Tour/downhill session on Friday and Washington DC Season Kick off Slide Jam on Saturday. Landyachtz stoked them out with a signed pintail/baseplate coat rack, shirts, & hats. Scott won a set of Bustin Swifts and an Omen deck and was crowned “King of the Rain” at the slide jam, while Katie was recognized with three other competing ladies, taking home a Jati Ninjati. Thanks to Buzzed Trucks, Landyachtz, Billy Jackle and all of the event sponsors for making this weekend memorable! Scott & Katie are looking forward to sharing their new gear with their friends in the 717.
